UTM Cipta Pengimbas Boleh Kesan Keaslian Sijil Akademik

SKUDAI – Sebuah perisian baru dibangunkan bagi mengesan ketulenan ijazah oleh Fakulti Alam Bina Jabatan Perancang Bandar dan Wilayah, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM).
Pengimbas yang diberi nama Imbas Pembaca itu merupakan sebuah sistem untuk mengesahkan identiti sekali gus dapat mengetahui sijil tersebut sah atau sebaliknya.

Pensyarah Kanan Fakulti Alam Bina Jabatan Perancang Bandar dan Wilayah UTM, Dr Muhammad Zaly Shah Muhammmad Hussein berkata, peralatan itu juga akan digunakan graduan UTM pada majlis konvokesyen institusi pengajian tinggi (IPT) berkenaan Oktober, nanti.
Katanya, peralatan itu dilihat bukan hanya untuk kegunaan di IPT semata-mata, malah ia bermanfaat bagi majikan atau bahagian sumber manusia untuk mengetahui graduan yang diambil bekerja menggunakan sijil yang sah atau palsu.

“Ini juga dapat menjimatkan masa kerana sebelum ini, mereka perlu menghubungi universiti untuk mendapatkan pengesahan sama ada graduan yang diambil bekerja merupakan bekas graduan daripada universiti tersebut.

“Oleh itu, setiap sijil akan dilengkapi dengan bar kod unik dan tersendiri yang menggunakan teknologi AES-128 dan perlu diimbas menerusi perisian yang dimuat turun secara percuma dari laman web yang sedang dibangunkan, www.imbas.my.

“Sistem yang pertama kali dibangunkan di Malaysia ini juga dapat digunakan untuk sijil-sijil lain. Kami tidak menjual sistem ini tetapi mana-mana IPT lain yang berminat memilikinya perlu membayar harga lesennya sahaja dan kosnya belum ditetapkan buat masa ini,” katanya kepada media, di sini, semalam.
Dalam pada itu, Muhammad Zaly Shah turut memperkenalkan satu lagi ciptaannya yang merupakan inovasi terkini dikenali sebagai pengesahan halal dan boleh diakses menerusi telefon pintar pengguna bagi memudahkan umat Islam mencari produk halal di negara ini.

Menurutnya, menerusi perisian tersebut, ia bukan sekadar dapat mengesan status sesuatu produk sama ada halal, meragukan atau tidak halal, bahkan turut dapat mengetahui maklumat berkaitan produk berkenaan.
“Pengesanan dibuat menggunakan kod bar atau kod Quick Response (Qr) pada sijil pengesahan setiap produk pada data yang dikeluarkan oleh Jabatan Kemajuan Islam Malaysia (Jakim). Apabila pengguna membuat imbasan di premis atau pada bungkusan produk, akan ada tiga paparan warna.

“Sekiranya rekod sijil itu sah, paparan akan berwarna hijau dan jika paparan berwarna kuning itu bermaksud bukan produk haram sebaliknya mungkin tarikh luput sijil halalnya sudah luput dan sekiranya paparan berwarna merah menunjukkan sijil halal telah ditarik balik.
“UTM merancang berbincang dengan Labuan Halal Hab Sdn Bhd bagi mewujudkan kod Qr pada setiap produk halal yang dikeluarkan. Perisian ini boleh diperolehi secara percuma dan mengambil masa lapan bulan untuk disiapkan dengan kos RM12,000 dan dijangka dapat digunakan awal tahun hadapan,” katanya.

UTM Quantity Surveying and Construction Students Won the 4th RICS-RISM International Surveying Conference for Undergraduate Competition

JOHOR  BAHRU, 19 May: A big congratulation to Quantity Surveying and Construction Students of Quantity Surveying Department, who managed to won 4 out of 9 awards at the 4 th RICS-RISM International Conference for Undergraduates 2012 held on 18 and 19th May at UiTM Puncak Alam Campus. The conference is a series of annual event jointly organized by Royal Institution of Surveyors (RICS) and Institution of Surveyors Malaysia (RISM) host together with participating Universities on a rotation basis. PAWDEX Awarded Gold Prize at SIIF (Seoul International Invention Fair) 2015

November 29 – UTM-ISIIC FAB- FKA team won a Gold Award at SIIF 2015 for the development and commercialization of PAWDEX, an Urban Walkability Index Analysis Model. The multidisciplinary research team which was spearheaded by Assoc. Prof Dr. Hasanuddin Lamit; consists of Dr. Arezou Shafaghat, Dr. Ali Keyvanfar,  Dr. Kherun Nita Ali, Prof. Dr. Mohd Zaimi Abd. Majid, and Prof. Dr. Mohd Hamdan Ahmad. The research project was also supported by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), Malaysian Highway Authority (Lembaga Lebuhraya Malaysia-LLM), Qatar Road Safety Studies Centre (RSSC), and the Institute of Sultan Iskandar (ISI).
