2010 INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM: IFLA APR CULTURAL LANDSCAPE COMMITTEE IDENTITY OF TRADITIONAL ASIAN LANDSCAPES

On 14 to 17 December 2010, a group of five staff from Department of Landscape Architecture attended IFLA Symposium on Cultural Landscape organized by the Seoul National University, South Korea. The theme of the symposium was Identity of Traditional Asian Landscapes that enabled academics from Asian universities to share viewpoints on cultural landscape issues and its meaning. Dr.Hamidah Ahmad, Dr. Sirima Nasongkhla, Dr. Sapura Mohamad and Assoc. Prof. Dr Ismail Said, presented their paper at the IFLA Symposium. In addition, landscape architect Mohd Za’i Kandar fromTropics Design and tutor, Lee Yoke Lai joined the symposium group.

UTM Quantity Surveying and Construction Students Won the 4th RICS-RISM International Surveying Conference for Undergraduate Competition

JOHOR  BAHRU, 19 May: A big congratulation to Quantity Surveying and Construction Students of Quantity Surveying Department, who managed to won 4 out of 9 awards at the 4 th RICS-RISM International Conference for Undergraduates 2012 held on 18 and 19th May at UiTM Puncak Alam Campus. The conference is a series of annual event jointly organized by Royal Institution of Surveyors (RICS) and Institution of Surveyors Malaysia (RISM) host together with participating Universities on a rotation basis. This year, it was hosted by Universiti Teknologi Mara at Puncak Alam Campus. The conference provides a platform for undergraduates from the various accredited surveying courses in Malaysia as well as Asia Pacific Regional Universities to share and exchange ideas, promote understanding and networking apart from exposing the students to present their undergraduate research publicly.
