Green Learning Grounds : A Shelter for School

UTM's Department of Landscape Architecture, and selected schools in Johor Bahru have working together to ensure that school's environment are as nurturing as possible. The greening School Ground Program represents a commitment to contribute positively to well-being of future generations by educating students and teachers about the importance of creating and preserving conducive school ground for learning and teaching.

The 1st International Exchange Workshop of Architecture and Urban Landscape Design were conducted on 4 – 11 th September 2015 between Shibaura Institute of Technology (SIT), Japan and Department of Landscape Architecture, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in Johor. Department of Landscape Architecture CSR program with Form Five students from Sekolah Menengah Kayu Ara Pasong at Mukim Api Api, Pontian. Ten students from SBEL1414 and Dr Ismail Said conducted the motivational field program with 29 school children and assisted by Penghulu Mukim Api Api, Mohammad Ali. The program was held at Tanjung Piai National Park on 17 March 2017 from 8:00am to 12:00 pm
