UTM Jalin Kerjasama Dengan MPPG Bangunkan Taman Komuniti Lestari

JOHOR BAHRU, 5 Jan (Bernama) – Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) bersedia menawarkan kepakarannya dalam membantu menyediakan reka bentuk landskap dan mentransformasikan persekitaran taman-taman komuniti di sekitar kawasan Pasir Gudang, di sini.
Dekan Fakulti Alam Bina UTM Profesor Dr Roslan Amirudin berkata perkara itu akan dilaksanakan dengan bantuan daripada Majlis Perbandaran Pasir Gudang (MPPG) dalam membangunkan Taman Komuniti Lestari di sekitar wilayah pentadbiran MPPG.
“Sebelum ini, kita memang telah jalankan kerjasama dengan MPPG cuma ini kali pertama ia dilakukan secara rasmi dan diwujudkan bagi berkongsi kepakaran Jabatan Senibina Landskap, Fakulti Alam Bina UTM dengan pihak Jabatan Landskap, MPPG dan membangunkan Taman Komuniti Lestari.
Pada tahun 2015, kita telah terlibat dalam pembangunan Kawasan Lapang Flat Taman Mawar, Pasir Gudang dan persekitaran Flat Taman Plentong Utama Johor Bahru dalam usaha menjadikan kawasan ini sebagai contoh kepada pembangunan persekitaran lestari dalam negeri Johor,” katanya ketika berucap pada majlis menandatangani Memorandum Perjanjian (MoA) di Dewan Aqabah MPPG, di sini hari ini.
Katanya, kerjasama ini merupakan komitmen UTM untuk memanfaatkan ilmu dan kemahiran yang ada untuk kesejahteraan masyarakat melalui pembinaan beberapa Taman Komuniti Lestari yang dihasilkan melalui reka bentuk yang mampan, kreatif dan inovatif.
“Pembinaan ini juga akan mengambil kira aspek persekitaran dan komuniti supaya taman yang dibangunkan memenuhi aspirasi, keperluan dan cita rasa komuniti setempat,” kata beliau.
Roslan berkata MoA yang dimeterai selama tiga tahun itu akan melibatkan semua pelajar dari semester awal hingga akhir Fakulti Alam Bina.
“Pendekatan mengintegrasikan projek libat sama komuniti adalah selari dengan Pengajaran dan Pembelajaran Alaf Baharu seperti pembelajaran melalui penyelidikan, pembelajaran melalui perkhidmatan dan pembelajaran melalui masalah ,” katanya.
Dalam pada itu, Yang Dipertua MPPG Hasrin Kamal Hashim berkata kerjasama itu akan memberi ruang kepada golongan akademik dan profesional melihat sendiri cabaran memenuhi keperluan dan kehendak komuniti dalam menyediakan pembangunan yang mapan.
“Sehingga kini, respons yang kita terima daripada masyarakat amat baik yang mana mereka juga dididik dalam menjaga persekitaran mereka agar sentiasa bersih selain mewujudkan rasa kepunyaan kepada komuniti mereka sekali gus mengurangkan vandalisme,” kata beliau.

UTM Quantity Surveying and Construction Students Won the 4th RICS-RISM International Surveying Conference for Undergraduate Competition

JOHOR  BAHRU, 19 May: A big congratulation to Quantity Surveying and Construction Students of Quantity Surveying Department, who managed to won 4 out of 9 awards at the 4 th RICS-RISM International Conference for Undergraduates 2012 held on 18 and 19th May at UiTM Puncak Alam Campus. The conference is a series of annual event jointly organized by Royal Institution of Surveyors (RICS) and Institution of Surveyors Malaysia (RISM) host together with participating Universities on a rotation basis. This year, it was hosted by Universiti Teknologi Mara at Puncak Alam Campus. PAWDEX Awarded Gold Prize at SIIF (Seoul International Invention Fair) 2015

November 29 – UTM-ISIIC FAB- FKA team won a Gold Award at SIIF 2015 for the development and commercialization of PAWDEX, an Urban Walkability Index Analysis Model. The multidisciplinary research team which was spearheaded by Assoc. Prof Dr. Hasanuddin Lamit; consists of Dr. Arezou Shafaghat, Dr. Ali Keyvanfar,  Dr. Kherun Nita Ali, Prof. Dr. Mohd Zaimi Abd. Majid, and Prof. Dr. Mohd Hamdan Ahmad. The research project was also supported by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), Malaysian Highway Authority (Lembaga Lebuhraya Malaysia-LLM), Qatar Road Safety Studies Centre (RSSC), and the Institute of Sultan Iskandar (ISI).
