UTM Summer School – Malaysia Heritage Walks & Town Trails 2018 – National University Of Civil Engineering (NUCE)



JOHOR BAHRU, 13 Februari 2018 – Seramai 25 orang peserta yang terdiri dari wakil program Perancangan Bandar dan Wilayah, Fakulti Alam Bina UTM (7 pelajar dan 1 pensyarah pengiring) dan Faculty of Architecture and Planning (FAP), National University of Civil Engineering (NUCE) dari Hanoi, Vietnam (15 pelajar dan 2 pensyarah pengiring) telah telah menyertai program UTM Summer School – Malaysia Heritage Walks & Town Trails 2018. Program UTM Summer School anjuran Fakulti Alam Bina UTM (FAB UTM) melalui Jabatan Perancangan Bandar dan Wilayah (JPBW) ini merupakan edisi kali ke-5 bersama pihak NUCE dan yang pertama selepas Perjanjian Persefahaman (MoU) ditandatangani pada Oktober 2017 antara kedua-dua institusi pengajian.

Program ini diketuai oleh Dr. Noor Aimran Samsudin, Pensyarah Kanan Jabatan Perancangan Bandar dan Wilayah UTM selaku pengarah program. Matlamat utama program ini adalah untuk memperkenalkan usaha pemeliharaan bandar dari perspektif bidang perancangan bandar selain memupuk perasaan kecintaan terhadap nilai warisan tempatan dalam konteks alam bina melalui lawatan teknikal ke beberapa bandar warisan dan tapak bersejarah terpilih seperti Bandar Maharani Bandar Diraja dan Tapak Warisan Dunia UNESCO Bandaraya Melaka Bersejarah selain ke Putrajaya dan Kuala Lumpur.

UTM Quantity Surveying and Construction Students Won the 4th RICS-RISM International Surveying Conference for Undergraduate Competition

JOHOR  BAHRU, 19 May: A big congratulation to Quantity Surveying and Construction Students of Quantity Surveying Department, who managed to won 4 out of 9 awards at the 4 th RICS-RISM International Conference for Undergraduates 2012 held on 18 and 19th May at UiTM Puncak Alam Campus. The conference is a series of annual event jointly organized by Royal Institution of Surveyors (RICS) and Institution of Surveyors Malaysia (RISM) host together with participating Universities on a rotation basis. This year, it was hosted by Universiti Teknologi Mara at Puncak Alam Campus. PAWDEX Awarded Gold Prize at SIIF (Seoul International Invention Fair) 2015

November 29 – UTM-ISIIC FAB- FKA team won a Gold Award at SIIF 2015 for the development and commercialization of PAWDEX, an Urban Walkability Index Analysis Model. The multidisciplinary research team which was spearheaded by Assoc. Prof Dr. Hasanuddin Lamit; consists of Dr. Arezou Shafaghat, Dr. Ali Keyvanfar,  Dr. Kherun Nita Ali, Prof. Dr. Mohd Zaimi Abd. Majid, and Prof. Dr. Mohd Hamdan Ahmad. The research project was also supported by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), Malaysian Highway Authority (Lembaga Lebuhraya Malaysia-LLM), Qatar Road Safety Studies Centre (RSSC), and the Institute of Sultan Iskandar (ISI). The team has won the judges attention to their Urban Walkability Decision Support tool which was developed to be used by local government agencies to enhance low-energy and low-emission urban development policies.
